Mass poisoning in nightclub in East London….
UP to 20 people have died with 'bodies strewn across tables and chairs' in a mass 'poisoning' in a nightclub.

Emergency services were called at the Enyobeni Tavern in East London, South Africa early this morning.

They found lifeless bodies across tables and chairs with at least 20 deaths reported so far.

"Head of the provincial government safety department Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe said on local TV: "The number has increased to 20, three have died in hospital.

"But there are still two who are very critical."

Authorities who were alerted by members of the public to the incident at Scenery Park are investigating the deaths.

Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said the circumstances under which they died are "under investigation".

He added it was too early to determine the cause of death of the young adults aged between 18-20 years.

"We do not want to make any speculations at this stage," Kinana said.

Local television showed police officers trying to calm down a crowd of people gathered outside the club in the city.

Police said the cause of death remains unknown however there has been speculation they were exposed to some kind of poison.

FOMB! Not all East Londons are wonderful it seems.

Yogib - Yea, that kind of rings a bell, but my memory ain't the best. I didn't get sick, but remember you and Holy bolted from the African joint late doors and I ended up taking a kitchen back to the hotel with me.

joyo - What do you make of Split? It's on my list at some point hopefully. it's Bilic' home town.

I'm glad you can be a little bit ooh, a little bit ahh in the places you drink, joyo as it has no impact on my health.

Come to Belvedere and I'll get the local tramp to rub his pus-infested knob all over the top of your bottle of beer before they serve it up to you. You can then prove what a man you are to all by necking it in one.

I don't go anywhere without the church keys.

Show them to the bar staff and make it clear that I'll open the bottle when it arrives.

If a bar owner gets pissed off at that (which a few do) I simply walk out and find another bar.

Reckon I was roofied or something else.

My first thoughts (apart from sympathy for all those affected by the loss) is poor quality moonshine passed off as branded spirits.
